Initially the idea of planning a wedding sounds so magical and wonderful that you can't imagine why people lose sleep over this. That's usually the feeling when that ring is placed upon your finger. Then the reality sets in that you want to plan your dream wedding, and of course it will be the most important day of your life. Before you freak out and throw your hands up in despair, know that it doesn't have to be a stressful time in your life. Planning a wedding can be quite easy if you stay organized, create a plan early on, and enlist the help of any necessary resources along the way.

It can be quite helpful to work with a wedding checklist. A checklist that breaks down the various activities that go into wedding planning will help you to remember every little detail. Not only that, but it will also break down the timelines that you want to think through and ultimately plan each and every activity. This can be your best tool in planning a wedding and it can help you to find one from the minute that the reality sets in. Use a wedding checklist as a guide, you'll find that there are some activities that aren't applicable and of course there are some timelines that work better for you than others. You'll find what works best but having a framework can take a lot of the initial stress off, and keep it off along the way!

The most important aspect to your wedding day is to set the ceremony and reception venues. These are the two aspects of the wedding day that everything else will flow around, so once you set these two up then you can plan everything else. Don't think ahead to the vendors, focus solely on the location. If you are planning to get married at a venue that will work for both your ceremony and reception, then consider yourself quite lucky and move to setting the time and flow of the day. If you need to find one location for each, then take your time in researching and visiting those that make your short list. This can be a fun part of your wedding planning because you can visualize how the day will work. Spend the first part of your wedding planning focused on setting these locations, and the rest will flow from there. This will be a huge burden off once complete.

If you find that the whole concept of wedding planning is totally overwhelming, then hire a wedding planner. These professionals can help you coordinate certain aspects or the entire affair, the choice is up to you. It's okay to ask for help and if that will take some of the stress off, then it's a requirement for your wedding day. Everything has a way of falling into place and if you take the time to stay organized along the way, then you will find that planning your wedding doesn't have to be stressful at all.
