How to make sure you get the photos you want

Your wedding day is such an exhausting and exhilarating day it will go by in the blink of an eye after all your hard work and planning. The one thing you will cling to long after the wedding is over are your photos. You of course want amazing photos, but with so many other things going on that day it may seem impossible to get everything you want and keep track of it all. Luckily there are things you can do ahead of time to take off some of the stress of the big day and ensure you get the pictures of your dreams.

Make a list of shots
A few weeks before the wedding create a list of shots you want to make sure are taken. These should include all the family shots you want (bride and father, groom and cousins, etc.) as well as special pictures you would like that relate to the venue (where you want the pictures), type of photos (silly photos of the wedding party) or otherwise. By putting all of these into writing you will have an easier time remembering it all. Send a copy of this to your photographer ahead of time and have one with you or give it to a bridal party member to keep with them for the day of the wedding.

Take pictures before the ceremony
Take as many of the photos as you can before the ceremony starts so you won’t feel rushed or make your guests wait too long. This will also allow you to go through your list and ensure you get all your shots.

Have a bridal party member help out
Assign a responsible person to keep track of your list and help the photographer by pointing out who people are or making sure they get shots throughout the night.
