Alternative Honeymoons

Posted by Jennifer Tressen (Apr 8,2009)

When it comes to a wedding one of the first things a man thinks about and looks forward to is the honeymoon and well, how could you blame them? The honeymoon is a glamorous vacation and escape from the world and of course there is also the sexy honeymoon magic to think of. But the downside is that many honeymoon escapades can cost a fortune and you may not have that kind of cash to throw around. However that doesn’t mean you can’t have an amazing honeymoon getaway. In fact you may not want a traditional honeymoon in the first place. Here are some fun, fabulous and affordable honeymoon options for those looking for something a little out of the ordinary.

Camping in the mountains
It doesn’t have to be real camping like a tent and cooking over a makeshift fire sort of a thing but it also can be. Rent an RV and spend a few days or a week out in the good old fashioned outdoors. There is a ton to do and see. You can go fishing, hiking, swimming, take pictures, roast marshmallows and make love under the stars. Now there’s nothing better than that!

Theme park hopping
Like the rides and still feel like a kid? Go theme park hopping and choose a bunch of places you want to go from Disneyland to waterparks, miniature golf and more there will be lots of thrills, sights and sounds to take in as you make new memories together.

Bed and breakfast stay
Find a cute bed and breakfast somewhere in your state and spend a weekend tucked away from the world. You can stay in bed all day or go out and see the town. The best part? You will have everything you need and lots of great food.

Volunteering in a foreign country
Do some great and give back while you bond and spend time together. It will really be an experience you will never forget and you’ll be changing lives in the meantime.

Backpacking tour
Put on those walking shoes and see the country. Take in all the sights, spend every moment together as you learn more about one another and nature itself.

I never thought I would be the crazy wedding type who would fall in love with everything about weddings. That was until I planned my own. Then it was all over, I am not obsessed with weddings. After attending, planning and being involved in numerous weddings I have learned a lot of lessons about what to do and not to do when it comes to executing the most important day of your life.
